Sculpture

David Hochbaum’s sculptures take the symbolic language of his 2D work and translate it into striking physical forms. Just as ladders, houses, and towers rise within his paintings, these motifs become tangible in his sculptures, evoking themes of ascent, isolation, and the precarious balance of existence. These recurring objects, whether carved or constructed, mirror the tension between the organic and the architectural that permeates his entire body of work.
